The short answer is you’ll be able to stop stressing about your home’s interior. Plus, you’ll save time and money. It seems counterintuitive; that you’ll save money on your project while paying a designer. But, a professional will remove the pressure so you enjoy the process, avoid costly mistakes and foster design decisions that could improve quality of life and possibly increase the value of your home. We have access to countless trade-only resources not available to the general public and know how to maximize the value of your purchases by sourcing high-quality items with the best vendor deals.
Designing your home can seem overwhelming. We get it.
An interior designer has a trained sense of what needs to be done and when it needs to happen. In addition, we’ll be able to anticipate any obstacles that may come up and help you narrow down your selections from millions of choices. Leave it to us to juggle all of the essential elements of your project. It’s what we’re trained to do! You can confidently relax without the heavy lifting. The result will be a thoughtful, functional design with a cohesive, uniquely personalized look.
Hiring a professional designer is a luxury service that not everyone can afford. It’s an investment in your home and our expertise, resources and years of experience. We’ll work within your budget parameters so long as they’re reasonably in line with your wish list.
The wish list (a.k.a. scope of work) is uncovered at the design consultation. Afterwards, we’ll provide a planning budget that offers a fuller picture of what costs will look like. Once we’re aligned, you’ll sign our design agreement and we’ll get to work. At the presentation, you’ll receive a price list for all items we recommend you purchase.
In the spirit of full transparency, we commit to being crystal-clear with all matters relating to your budget. Depending on the amount of work involved, you can expect to spend 35-50% over and above your furnishings budget on design fees.
GHDG does not provide contractor services outright, but is happy to make recommendations. We have our own network of trusted, talented trades people and will gladly make an introduction for your consideration.
If you need us to collaborate with architects and contractors you’ve already hired, we're on board.
However, please consider our design plans are only as good as their execution. To that end, we only work with licensed, insured, highly skilled, master-level contractors and specialty trades people.
Having a clear, reasonable budget is a critical part of meeting your expectations and making the project run smoothly. Clients typically have an idea of how they want their spaces to look, but don’t necessarily know how much it will cost. That’s ok!
Based on market conditions and prior projects, we’ll provide an estimated planning budget for your wish list items. With that information, we’ll help you decide how to best utilize your budget for maximum impact.
Clients are always 100% in control of their finances. We make recommendations based on what is needed to execute your vision. It’s up to clients to either approve or decline those recommendations. We can help you track spending but, ultimately, you’re accountable for staying within a budget that’s comfortable for you.
Before engaging with us, we encourage you to spend time reviewing our project gallery and social media profiles. It’s critical to hire a designer who shares your tastes and aesthetic senses. Our job is to make your home look and feel like you and, oftentimes, that means making design selections through your lens, not ours.
GHDG's aesthetic infuses a modern classic, effortlessly chic design style with a dash of the unexpected. If your vision is way beyond the borders of this approach, we might not be the best fit for you.
Shopping solo is not recommended. Once you hire us to design and complete a vision for your space, we’re officially teammates! So, it’s important to agree on all selections.
By choosing items together, we can ensure that they mesh with the design, space and budget.
This depends on the scope of the project and what is purchased. Early on, we’ll establish a project completion timeline so you’ll know exactly what to expect and when.
Once we get started, clients often extend their projects. It’s truly the highest compliment we could receive. Typically, increasing the scope is not a problem as long as our design schedule allows and the timeline for project completion is adjusted.
With creativity, collaboration, and fun as the soul of our process, we aim for excellence and unapologetically sweat the big and small stuff alike.
Integrity matters. We do what we say and follow through on our promises.
